I just got some Pollen Patties to try out on my second hive and have a question about them.  What is the best way to store them.  I am only planning on putting half a patty on to see how the bees like them and don't want the rest of the box sitting out.  Is it ok to freeze them?

thanks

Yup, sock them in the freezer. Works for me. I dont think Im ever going to use them again. It was about a 50/50 mix on my hives that used them versus didnt touch them.

As stated above freeze.

Do you have an SHB problem in your area. If you do think twice and then twice again about the use of the pollen patties this time of year. They create SHB breeding grounds.

If you have SHB and still determine to use the patties i would go less than a half Pattie to judge their intake and only on strong hives.

IF SHB are a problem in your area beware!!!
