Just purchased some bee equipment and there was several hives that used perma comb.  some of these had vivid traces where wax moths had left their tail tell signs. Of course the moths did not harm to the perma comb itself so I cleaned them up pretty darn good and used them fro supers on really strong hives.  Should I have completely discarded them? :?

They will be fine. The bees will finish cleaning them.

I have had some suggestions that the frames should be frozen before using.  :?

Active yes---- old inactive not necessary. If you have room and it gives you piece of mind toss them in the freezer a couple of days.
If they are going in storage you will have to protect them from future wax moth damage.
