In my opinion, there is not another one.  I have learned way too much and developed some really good friendships to go looking for some other place to bee.  I prefer a monogamous relationship.  Might not have been the best question to ask here. Just saying. :-\

I have seen a couple of veiled references to other site(s) here searching old threads this winter, and again in this one. For those of us who are new is there some history here we should know so as to avoid stepping in "it"?

Do you go into a Chevy dealership and ask which Dodge or Ford they recommend?

Really, if you're just wanting to find more info on bees, punch in honeybees in Yahoo and go thru the pages.

We are open minded to other forums here. We surely have many members that are members of other forums, myself included.
I spend almost all of  my time here because I enjoy the folks and it's geared a little more to the backyarder.
It also has features not found at some of the other forums.
There are a couple who's names are filtered out here because of attacks to the forum or our members, but they will not be mentioned.Nor need they be.
But feel free to talk about the others. But don't be bad mouthing them.
I see in a recent post on the forum about plans to build box joints referenced at Beesource. We have no problem with that.
We just hope to be the most appealing for our membership with voice and text chat features, links to photos and videos, and as always, a forum without ads running at the top of evry page to redirect you somewhere else. This has always been Johns(Founder) desire.

A legitimate reference, I can see. A link or request to visit just to promote another forum, I think is crude and disrespectful. Many on here know I admin another bee forum, but the only time I ever post it is in an informational link to a thread answering the poster's question.

Rules aren't needed if respect is shown.

Forgive the narrow minded who only think in terms of bee forums.  ;) I guess that is all of us!  :-D

I understand your question in asking what other forums are out there, even those NOT bee forums.

For one, and really the only other one I post on, and it has nothing to do with the bee forum they have (which I don't care for)...is homesteadingtoday.com

The forum is huge and covers many topics and forums beyond what is listed here on beemaster. While beemaster may be the only "bee forum" I participate in, I find the volume and expertise of the folks on homesteadingtoday.com to be first rate and very helpful. I ask many chicken and farming questions on that site.

Hope this helps.  :)

good point Bjorn, it was a very open question!
If you are interested in growing fruit and berries,I find the folks on the fruit and orchard forum at gardenweb to be a good diverse bunch with a wealth of information both general and region specific. It is not ad free which is a drag. I have not really looked at any of the other forums on that site as few are my thing but they do have a lot of them.

There are other kinds of forums? I guess  I overlooked that point. I am also a member of a couple home brewing forums. homebrewtalk.com and northernbrewer forums.
And a gardening forum, although there is little traffic there,so I don't check on it often.

You mean there's something else in the world other than bees??

It's a bit amusing.  I read/post a number of places, but there are 3 primary ones (Beemaster is one).  Having spoken to some of the administrators for all of them, it is clear that all think that the others aren't worthy of mention....and they all seem to have done something at some point to become "unmentionable".  Of course they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

There is really only one on the list here because of attacks on our members.I am a member on a few others with no regrets.

Of course other forums hate this one. I'm Here!  :-D

i have been on beesource, but it was pretty quiet the few times i was there.  one bee forum is about all i have time for anyway.
