I am requeening a hive and its my first time doing this. I put the queen in the hive Saturday in her cage and looked at it today, Monday. The bees are all over the screen area not walking around just glomed on two deep and did not want to move so I could see if the queen is still alive in there. Is this a normal sign that they are accepting her or is this more aggresive behavior?
They did not appesr to be stinging through the cage, they have their faces planted into it.

Thanks,
Stacie

If the bees looked like they were trying to feed her,and not sting her through the cage thats a good sign. I know it's hard but don't look in again for at least a week. Sometimes to much disturbance, and they will kill her.

Assuming, of course, that you are wearing a veil a light puff of breath usually will clear the bees enough to see the queen.  (Occasionally this will make some of them angry, but usually not).  If they are feeding her that's a good sign.  If they are biting the wires that's a bad sign.  If she is hiding in the corner, that's a bad sign.  If she is up on the wires looking calm that's a good sign.
