who owns a maxant 1400 extractor?

ordered one last week. any tips?

I have one and love it!

I was told to turn the tension knob down when not in use.

Goes without saying but you extract with the gate open.

If you're not spinning twenty at a time, spread your frames out evenly as you can to decrease any chance of walking. Start off slowly and increase speed as you go.

JP, I'm with you. I have one and love it.

After extracting, set the extractor about 100 feet from the hive, off the ground and on its side. The bees will clean it out for you. I sprinkle Cinnamon around the stand to keep the ants out.  -Mike

I got one this year and also love it.

I installed 3" lockable caster wheels on mine, to make it easy to move around.
It can walk a little when first started but will stay put after some honey is spun out.
How much it walks depends on how well balanced it is.

thanks ed.. i live on a 300vegetablegtable farm that is owned by my wifes family so bees are needed :)

i added 3/4 spacers under its legs to give me more clearence under the honey gate
