Well I had one huge hive full of very mean bees I mean MEAN so I did what MR Bush said divide and conquer I made three new hives new queens happy bees now doing fine kirk-o

I would relly like to try that. The logistics are just a little too much for me alone as I can hardly lift a large hive supper when it is full. and I only have one jacket and veil. I am thinking of making a three point hitch forklift attachment for my tractor.  I could manage a lot better if I could get them all in mediums. I also want to keep getting honeyI think I will wait untill my other hives catch up then I won't be shutting down my honey. I have become addicted to it. I put it on my pancakes and my peanut butter sandwiches, in my cereal It is a good thing I am not diabetic I weould be in trouble. What I am going to do Is just take honey and not try to manipulate them bercause they are so mean, then when I have another hive producing i will split them up if I can get a three way split it will make me a honey surplus to sell

This is my first year at beekeeping.  When I first got my bees (from a nuc), they were so gentle.  As time went on, and the new queen's eggs hatched, they got meaner and meaner.  Now, only having one hive, I didn't have anything to compare them to, but suspected they were too aggressive.  I had the state bee inspector come out and she confirmed that they were way too mean.  So I am going to have to requeen.  I sure am learning a lot my first year.  I am sort of nervous because I am afraid I won't be able to find the old queen to kill her.  An experienced beekeeper has offered to help, so I am taking him up on it.  The people who were supposed to send the queen haven't done so yet as it has been raining a lot there.  It will probably come next week when the temps are back in the 90's.
