Not too much to say, two new colonies that moved into a raised camp about 14' up. Last year I removed two from this same camp but on the back end. I have been getting calls now for the last three years from this area every October when the Goldenrod and Golden Rain Trees are blooming.

The second hive was one of those self-removing types.  LOL  It is so much fun watching.  Thanks!

Love your videos.
How many hits did you take when it fell on you? I bet it would have been real bad if it had been a fully developed hive with brood and honey to protect.

You make it look so easy. I wish I had more time to do this. I guess I'll stick to shakes and trap outs for now.

I enjoyed this very much especially loved the music. Nice when you snapped the photos and then showed us right away, I liked that lots.

Looked pretty easy for an expert like you.

Tell me JP, do you ever squash bees when vacuuming them up? I mean do they get squashed or killed going through the hose and landing in the box??

Thanks for sharing these wonderful videos, which I always enjoy and look for.

Good video.   Cool where you slowed down the repeat on the falling comb.   Thanks for posting.

Nice video JP.  Perhaps a silly question, but, are the buildings required by code to be that high for storm surge?
Nice video and thanks for sharing it with us.

I love to watch the high-speed vacuuming.

And you stacked the comb like pancakes.

Believe it or not I did not receive a single sting when that piece of comb hit my shoulder but my shoulder did smell an awful lot goldenrod until I showered!  :-D

I don't believe it is a requirement that the camps be that high off the ground but perhaps for insurance sakes there is a minimum height. I will have to find out, now you have me curious as well.

Annette, bees can get smooshed with any type vacuum if the vacuum is too strong. All mine have regulators to set the vacuum at the rate which is most agreeable. The main problem with bee vacs is not that issue however, its the fact that too many bees in a catch box tend to over heat. When its really hot out one needs to be very careful not to overfill the inner boxes as there can be a good bit of casualties. Too many bees in the catch boxes coupled with intense heat is not a good equation for the bees. When its really hot out its best to vacuum less bees per box.

Schawee and I will be removing yet another external colony attached to another tree branch this coming week! Y'all stay tuned and thanks for the feedback!

As the new guy here, I found this video simply amazing.  I can tell he knows what he's doing and he does it well.  But it's got to take some kahunas to climb that ladder and get face to face with all those bees.  If you got stung, you sure didn't show it.  And you ended up with two bunches of bees. I raise my glass to you, Sir.    :cheer:

Well, thanks Greg, but seriously I used a little smoke on the bees and in all honesty they really hadn't even truly settled in yet. Give them a few months or so and they likely wouldn't have been so forgiving.

Ok, I might be a little crazy also.  :-D
