bottling tank

I have a 200# water jacketed bottling tank that I will need to use at least a few times over winter. My honey house is not heated. Usually I drain it after use but was thinking that if I put RV antifreeze in it instead of water. Anyone see a reason why this wouldn't work?

I have heard of people that use antifreeze--so it should be good--RDY-B

maybe propylene glycol, but I would call manufacturer and ask

for those that dont use beesource forum, I asked this same question and got a reply from a gentalman that fills his jacketed tanks with veg. oil. He stated that his wax melter tank has had the same oil in it for 3 years now.

Yeah, I'm curious too, I found this forum after Beesource and I am happily following both, I haven't noticed a problem over there but I'm fairly new to both.

Beesource is not a bad word here. We know most members are members of several forums. There are only a couple that we do not allow posting of,but that is because of verbal attacks against the forum and some of it's members.
Barry runs his forum differently than here,and we appeal to different people for different reasons,and we also share many of the same members.
Iddee is admin at beekeeping forums and is a welcome member here at Beemaster.
I am a member at a few bee forums,but choose to spend most of my time here.
So don't be afraid to mention Beesource here. :)
