"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Didn't something else happen on December 7th as well.....

Poppi

Proof that you can find a sorehead in a beekeeper forum on any subject   :thunder: (not smart enough to do the imoticons but not trying to start a fight either!

How exactly does one celebrate this day?  If it's some kind of kinky candle thing count me out.  I don't like getting burnt.   :-D
Take me to the land of milk and honey!!!

Vance G

It is just useless nonsense like most of my head is packed with.  I will say it to appear different and knowledgeable and I will get enough satisfaction from that.  I will give more reflection of Pearl harbor and it will also always be Pearl Harbor Day and always be vigilant to forestall another and resolved to respond as thundrously!

Poppi

Oops!!!  didn't mean to step on your toes Vance...  just responding to Bluebee...   I would surely rather celebrate a Saint than what happened at Pearl..   Peace brother :)

I actually have been dipping candles all week in prep for the Christmas rush. Now I have a saint to blame my mania on.

The story goes that as an infant, a swarm of bees landed on his face and left a drop of honey.  Meaning to his father he was going to be an orator.   So he was raised to be one probably.  Just a fun thing.

cant find the part about bees--??  RDY-B

[4] There is a legend that as an infant, a swarm of bees settled on his face while he lay in his cradle, leaving behind a drop of honey. His father considered this a sign of his future eloquence and honeyed tongue. For this reason, bees and beehives often appear in the saint's symbology.
