Rotating brood boxes

i've heard & read that some beekeepers. pull the bottom brood boxes this time of year since the bottom box is usually empty & the bees are all in the top box. does anyone here go that route?

thanks for input. i'm glad i asked! this was suggested to me by a local beekeeper. my concern was that it wouls be easy to lose or kill the queen.

Doubtful.  Splitting the brood nest would be my concern.
