Decided on italin bees from spille honey and a hive from dadants thanks for all the good advice everyone  :)
A swarm of bees in May is worth a load of hay; A swarm of bees in June is worth a silver spoon; A swarm of bees in July isn't worth a fly.

It is great fun starting out and great trepidation too!  I envy you the newness of it.  But I still love everyday I can be with the bees and hope you have a great time.

If you have not joined a local beekeepers club yet, I suggest you do as many have a mentoring program to help newbees.  -Mike

Listen to others but make your own decisions. That way you own the results.

Best of luck Colbees.  Keep notes of everything you do and everything that happens. It will be very helpful in the future when you want to go back and check on something or other; at least it has been for me.

Excited for you!  I have to repeat the suggestion to join local club/get a mentor. It hurts to have your first go round end up disappointing.  Getting someone local to contact/talk to will increase your chances for success and that my friend is a good thing.   X:X
Bees are the key to life as we know it.

Join a local bee guild (or two, or three) and get a mentor.  Your on your way - congrats!   X:X

+1 what applebwoi said.

Keeping notes on your observations is a great way to learn, and remember  :-D
