had a big swarm day today (5)

well the day started by going to the hunting camp were most of my bees are.i had a hive i let get over populated  and videoed it swarming .they landed in a near by tree and boxed them up.i checked the hive and have 15 good queen cells i will use to make nucs.i got a call back from a guy i had taken two swarms from and he had another swarm in the same tree again.this was a small after swarm and i put them in a nuc.i will pick them up tomorrow nite.when i got home i went to the garden to pick up some pots and notice a huge swarm in my orange tree.i put them in a cardboard box and looked for the queen.i hit the motherload of queens ,i had five queens and was looking for more when the sky was buzzen with bees.i thought ith bees were leaving at first but i noticed all the bees were landing on the box.im sure it was another swarm and maybe got con fused and landed in the box with the other bees. when i was looking for more queens they had a ball of bees so i picked them up and sure enough there was the sixth queen.im thinking it was the queen from the swarm that just landed in the box but i had two other queens that they were balling.out of the six queens three were tiger stripe and the other three were caramel colors. the bees were balling them and not the tiger stripes.i notice some bees fling by some empty boxes and frames  i had under my back porch that had old waxmoth cocoons that i never cleaned yet.so i went to see why they had all the bees flying .well they had a swarm move right on in the boxes.i didn't see any flying yesterdayso they must have moved in sometime today.so thats five swarms in one day.i have all of it videoed and will be posting it soon i hope.        .......schawee

He called me all shook up folks, breathing heavy. Was really concerned for my buddy ya know. He was so outta breath!  I said okay buddy take a deep breath, put down the milk shake & gather yourself. That's when he started telling me about all the action he was having. Wish I would have been there. Definitely a two shake kinda day!  :-D

I know how hard it is Schawee. Like you, I am a milkshakeaholic, but with a lot of effort and with support from family and friends I have been milkshake free for 11 months 6 days and 7 hours... :-D
