Temps over 70 degrees F, bees bringing in pollen, queens laying eggs, brood building up conservatively.  Daffodils blooming, tree buds popping out all over the place!  Went in and took off my insulated tops and rotated my boxes - put the brood boxes on the bottom, empty comb with a frame of honey or two on top of that, and a full medium of honey to top it off.  Then we get hit with 24 hours of over 30 mph winds and a night down to 17 degrees F!  Shouldn't have been fooled.  It was still MARCH  - not late April!  I learned that I have to respect the calender and not be fooled by some freak weather.

I wonder how this killing frost will affect the spring flow.....  What are your thoughts on this?  And what have you guys experienced?

Same as you here, but I have not disturbed the girls yet. I am waiting on flying drones before i do anything with the bees. We have had no killing frost yet as the wind has been moving the air.

Stone "  I did the same thing you did. Changed the brood boxes. I had two suppers full of honey. I removed about half of it. Kept two guarts for myself and, am feeding the rest back to the bees. Soon I will take the rest of the honey and feed it to the bees. After that I will let the hives build up during the summer.

I only have two hives, and my wife and I need 14 guarts of honey per year and the hives would give much more than that.
I very seldom or never feed sugar water. I find feeding the honey back to the bees gives them a good start for the year.
I don't sell honey. I just want honey for my wife and myself. And I just enjoy taking care of the bees.
Better to have a gun and not need it
Than need one and don't have it
