Does anyone in Australia only wax dip their equipment, no painting? I see BKs in other countires do this. An advantage would be the ease of redipping as part of a maintenance program, without paint bubbling off.

you ought to tink about adding resin to the wax to help seal the pours of the wood. add about 1 part resin to 3 parts wax. check youtube for vids about wax dipping hive bodies.

P.s be careful about the heating it can be explosive at such high temps needed to penatrate the pours of the wood.

Does anyone in Australia know where to actually get bulk resin?
I searched high and low last year but couldn't find any  :(

It's actually gum rosin you want. Maybe if you refined your search?

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I was looking at using 50/50 microcrystalline and paraffin wax. Anyone know of qld suppliers?

Still had no luck finding Resin, or Gum Rosin.
Anyone else in Australia or QLD know of a supplier?

Microcrystaline wax serves the same purpose as the gum rosin
