Need to get Amazon into the beek supply business, They are amazing at shipping things cheaply.

Beeboy01

Call the vendor and complain. Tell them you will not use them again because of this. I don't know if it will help but I bet you will feel better.

I will agree on some of the smaller things going USPS in their "if it fits, it ships" priced boxes, might take an extra day but then again you get what you pay for.

I could probably tell you who the supplier is, have used them a couple of times and they pack everything like that. You will have to give them credit though, your stuff was not damaged when it arrived  :-D
those hot bees will have you steppin and a fetchin like your heads on fire and your keister is a catchin!!!

Bees will be bees and do as they please!

I could pay for an armor car to bring it to me also but that would be pricey, and I bet it would come in good shape..... I am not there cardboard disposal depot.... I had 20 lbs of beeswax shipped from FLA for the same price of a few ounces on material coming from this supplier...... I truly believe it will be the last time I purchase from them..... for anything  :::rant over:::

I buy some supplies from a organic growers supply and they use that same cardboard
its produced from a expensive machine they bought so they would be with in *green shipping standards*
i will tell you right know that stuff is some of the best smoker fuel i have ever used-nice white cool smoke
and it stays lit--burn it in your smoker----RDY-B

I always take the shipping into consideration when deciding who I choose to do business with. If they are the cheapest overall what difference does it make how they make their profit. If they don't make money they won't be around very long.

Really? I own my own business and ship everyday by UPS and USPS. I have never gotten any "discount refund", and I would love to get a 25% discount on my bill every month!

I'm always amazed at what folks think is or is not good shipping prices.

I sell one item on eBay that costs 2.09 to ship. I also pay 80 cents for delivery confirmation which is needed so you don't get ripped off. (I can mail 100 packages with delivery confirmation and not one person will say they did not get it. I can mail three packages with no delivery confirmation and one of the three will claim it did not arrive and demand another unit.)

Any ways, shipping 2.09, delivery confirmation 80 cents which is not shown on the postage label. So not counting the packaging, driving to the post office, time processing, etc., and you have some moron who does nothing but look at the 2.09 and figures they were "ripped off" due to the fact they paid a whole whopping 3 dollars for shipping and handling.

And even though it is posted and announced, they take the liberty to ding you on a bad feedback or your shipping rating like on eBay. All they see if the 2.09, and figure they are getting ripped off. But do they figure the packaging, costs like delivery confirmation that is not shown on the postage, time filling the order, driving to the post office, overhead like packaging material, costs not associated with the shipping fees? No.

I just figure they probably never ran a business or actual mailed commercial items before and are probably ignorant to the full picture.

I say you should know what the shipping is BEFORE you buy it. And if you decide to pay it, then that's on you. No company I have ever dealt with has ever refused to tell me what the shipping was when ordering.

I have used one vendor who will take the order but will not give the shipping charges untill everything is boxed up and weighed. They send the invoice with the shipping cost by mail and it comes in after the order arrives. I have stopped using them because of this which is too bad because I like thier wood ware.

BlueBee

You should see the elaborate packaging they use to ship electronic components!  It's 99% packaging and 1% parts.  As BjornBee says, its best to be aware of shipping fees before pressing the "buy" button.
