i had to cut my reducer so that i could fit the feeder, the summer side is about 2.25 inches long is that big enough :?
A swarm of bees in May is worth a load of hay; A swarm of bees in June is worth a silver spoon; A swarm of bees in July isn't worth a fly.

I ran a reducer on mine all last summer that was the width of my boardman feeder. No ill effects other than some traffic jams. I took it out this spring. They're happier about it, just unhappy when I pried the propilised reducer out with my hive tool.
Just a beek trying to get ready for winter.

is it a new hive?  or do you have more than one hive, smaller the better,  small entrances help with robbing,  you can tell when bees are waiting to get in, if so make it bigger
