Will hive traps, say a quarter mile away, from my hives cause me problems?

I guess I'm asking if swarm traps interfere with established hives?

Only if having more bees is a problem.  They pose no issue for your established hives.

A bait hive will not cause hives to swarm.  It just provides a home if they do.
