When using long hives do the brood frames stay in the hive by the entrance, the back of the hive or dose the queen move around and lay anywhere in the hive.

Michael Bush

They tend to put them by the entrance.  I tend to move them to the back IF I'm going to super them.  I leave them in the front if I'm not going to super them.  Moving them to the back means I don't have to move the supers to get to the brood nest.
