whats sounds perfec, the tad bettet then 1 to 1  or my mix.. ? mine seems thin.

if its the tad better then 1 to 1 ,is it better on the sugar or water side?

A gallon of water is 8.34 lbs. (5 gallons would be 41.7 lbs) To be 1:1 you would need 3 gallons of water for 25 lbs of sugar. This will yield almost 5 gallons of syrup. -Mike

I would add that 25 lbs of sugar to 1.8 gallons of boiling water just removed from the stovetop.   That will give you 3.7 gallons of 5:3 syrup.  The 5:3 mix works for all purposes and is stable in outdoor heat for months.
