I made a couple of front feeders which can only be accessed from the inside, but can be replaced easily!  And to think I installed them with no stings!  However, the bees apparently do not like cameras; as I did receive a nice sting while taking the photos!  Guess I should have left my protective gear on.

Enjoy!  Rich

I make cypress front feeders and add to the length going into the hive and the part outside the hive to support Half and full gallon jars (small mouth canning jars ) hard to find, but have to fill less often.

image 1 shows the room you have for half and 1gal. jars

image 4 shows the diff. between qt. and half gal.

image 5 is the one I bought , first one I ever had, is cypress but turned black with no finish..

I like the large jar setup.  Very nice.  I was concerned about the size of the entrance for the 8 frame hive, but I think they will be okay.  The 10 frame bee-max hive has a bit more room to go in and out.  Perhaps my next efforts will be for the gallon jar.  (The 8 frame went through 1 and a half jars in a day and a half!  Guess they are hungry.)

I fill 1/2 gal jars( right now)   every 2 days. they are putting up for winter , i guess.

P.S. i have even made entrance reducers to put with the front feeders , so they can defend against robbers..  Works too.
