When moving a frame of brood from one hive to another, do you need to get as many bees off of it or do you just put it in the new hive with bees still on it.

I just put them in. Puff a little Smoke and I'm done.
Never had problems with that

It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought of as a fool than to open ones mouth and in so doing remove all doubt.

If I am putting it in a failing hive, it is usually to the point where I only have foragers left anyhow so I just slide it in bees and all. That way it comes with some nurse bees.

I would add that you have to be careful that the queen doesn't happen to be on that frame!

You should shake the bees off. They however return their original hive.
Take a such frame, where bees are emerging. Otherwise smaller hive is in trouple when they must keep the brood warm.

Problems?

Just 2 weeks ago I moved bees from another yard to a small colony. They killed the queen.
