Waxing bee boxes

I am going to dip my bee boxes in hot wax instead of painting them.  I plan on using a mixture of micro crystalline and parrafin wax.  I will cook the boxes in the hot wax for about 10 minutes.  Does anyone know the proper ratio of these two waxes?

Have never done it but know it's becoming quite popular...Personally, have never heard of anyone using crystalline wax, thought everyone was using just paraffin...What's the theory behind the mix?

The theory behind the mix is adhesion. There is a youtube video that deals with this same thing. Might be worth checking out.

And yes I have heard of 100% crystalline wax.
The standard method is 2 parts paraffin and 1 part gum rosin.

The theory I have heard about gum rosin it lasts longer in the wood then just plain wax.
