I saw this in the Alabama Farmers and Consumers Bulletin. It's located in Henry County, SE Alabama.

17 Hive bees, one 18 frame extractor, many hives bodies & foundation, too many to list and one 25 gal bottling tank. $3000 Headland, Alabama. Winford Gulledge, (334) 618-7682.

depending on the condition it sounds like a fair price.  used bee equipment makes me nervous.

If the 17 hives are healthy bees, what a deal. For $3,000, that would be under $200 per hive. (A package of bees with queen is around $100.) Add in an extractor that probably cost over $1,000 new. And a large number of boxes you could sterilize. Even replacing every frame, this is a great deal. Wish I was closer and had the money.

I wish I could afford it too....that's just more than my hobby will allow.

If I lived closer and could inspect prior to purchase (of if I knew someone around that could inspect for me), I'd probably do it. Little too risky for me to drive 9 hours, each way, to find out they are diseased, boxes falling apart, and the like. Shame though.

I called and he said he has already sold them. :-x

We'll never know if we missed a great deal or a avoided a disastrous mistake.
