Some have claimed good results, some have not.  There is no debate that it is much more labor intensive than some other effective treatment methods.

In my experience they are somewhat effective, but it seems much easier to just go to a stable, natural system.  No treatments and no tainted honey is very convenient.

During these 10 years treating varroa has changed much. It is better to use  last instructions.

Hate to burst the bubble here, but if you were to ask the Beltsville
Bee Lab about their controlled studies on essential oils as varroa
controls, they'd tell you flat out "don't go there", as they found
no significant difference between essentials oils and no treatment
at all.

'Cept thymol, of course.  But there are pre-measured packages
of thymol products now being offered by multiple vendors.
