Hello all.  I have made some topics recently about my poly nucs as well as a topic about spring feeding.  My nuc is taking some of the syrup down.  Today was a gorgeous day and I decided to quickly transfer my nuc to one of my poly nucs.  I have been feeding my hives with basically a box in the hive.  The box encloses a jar and essentially 30 watts in light bulbs.  This keeps the syrup warm even when our weather isn't warm.  But I took this out of my poly hive.  Right now my poly nuc has a cluster that covers about three solid frames and sparsely on the inside of the first and fifth.  They have two new combs of honey that I gave them.  So they have the full bottom body and an empty on top for feeding.  Right now they have a 15 watt light bulb on the bottom of the hive.  So that's the back story.  My question is, will the one bottom bulb be enough to keep the syrup warm or should I put the box back in?  I took it out due to concerns about overheating the poly nuc.  Either way if they can't access the syrup for a few days they have some new honey that I added so they won't fall apart as I will be away from home for three days.
