I've had a  trap-out in progress for about 3 weeks. I'm using the Hogan style trap.

the bee escape has been installed for about 10 days & there were not that many bees in the trap, about 1 1/2 frames were covered. there was a little bit of nectar & pollen, no brood, & a lot of hive beetles. I moved the bees into a transport box & closed up the trap. the empty frames in the trap had quite a few beetles.
I don't want to shake these bees directly into a hive because of the beetles. if I shake them onto an overturned outer cover in front of my hives what are the odds that they'll move into a hive? shaking them onto the  cover will give me an opportunity to smash the beetles

I wouldn't worry too much about about the beetles. They're going to get in there one way or another. For every one you smash, one more will show up to take its place. The only real defense against them is to keep your hives strong and healthy (maybe with a few traps in there for good measure).

I understand that strong hives will fend of beetles & moths. the question was will bees that are released in front of hives drift into those hives.
