Hi I'm wandering if any of you have had your bees cover your out Sid lights before. The last time this happen I lost a hive to some kind of infection of sorts. They are acting normal other then at late in the night going into the morning. On my two lights. And now there's a hell of a lot of them on them. Moor then I have aver seen? :s :?

Do you have something going on in the hive that would get them out at night?  Did you just treat for mites? Do you NEED to treat for mites? Did they get into pesticides and are upset with it in the hive?

I am taking he means at night during dark hours being attracted to the light. Read where someone posted about this a few years ago. Don;t remember the specifics....

Your problem is probably just the after dark light source but here is a reference to the parasitic fly:

Would it be possible to turn off the lights?

My guess is it might bee like SC said about Paricitic Flies.
When it was first reported out west, it did not seem to bee a big problem. If you fing the paricitic flies, keep us up dated.

When I moved my colonies from the shade in the back of the property to sunlight on the east side, they became attracted to my security light in the middle. I had to shut it off. It seems if they have direct sight of light, they are attracted to it. Previously they couldn't see the light.
