Is it a quick release? I have one almost exactly like that - except for the rust on mine. Mine's a 1956 Super C. If you don't know what year it is post the serial number and I'll look at my paper and tell you.

You'd be surprised how much torque it has. There was a ford tauris end up head first in the ditch by my drive way. I hooked up, put it in first and it never strained.

Most of us don't have time to rebuild an older tractor.
Dan, looks like yours is ready to work around the farm.

Its a 1954.   I bought it from the original owner.   Its got the 3 point conversion on it so first order of business in hooking up the bush hog.    Not a bad deal for 1600.00

I still have the ford but I'm giving it to my son

Two tractor family now! You can't buy an old tractor around here without a bucket of money.
All the ones I passed on over the years would be worth a boat load now.
People have rebuilt them to set in the garage and show off to their friends.

My old tractor is a British Leyland 255, I bought it new in 1976.  Was out bush hogging about a month ago and the clutch messed up.  When I get through fixing my shooting houses will start on the tractor.  Haven't tore into it to see what is wrong yet, but want be to hard hopefully to fix.  I have replaced the clutch twice before myself.  When I get it going will have to put some new shoes on it.  The rear still has the original tires, I did replace the front tires 20 or so years ago.
Good luck to you all and your tractors.

I'm having crash courses in tractors recently as there's no one else here to drive or maintain them.  I had to ask the neighbours to change the implements on them today which is the most inconvenient part.  Then there are so many things to lift, unscrew, poke around in to find all the oils and fuel and goodness knows what other liquids.  I know there should be a spot for water somewhere.  The neighbour also showed me how to start the ford with a piece of wire.  He said there was enough charge but for some reason it wouldn't start.  I already know the generator's stuffed.  And the fiat has a pretty flat tyre but who knows how much pressure to fill it to...Why me??  I am not looking forward to hay baling next year with the added bonus of shear pins breaking and twine getting tangled.  Well, I have manure to scoop tomorrow to feed the trees to feed the bees.

Anyone interested in a working holiday, we can pay you in eggs...
