Got some dead hives gave to me. They have been setting four a few years and have red wasps in them. What is the best cure, I didn't want to spray them. They are in great shape.

My first thought is to plug the entrance and put 3 or so pounds of dry ice on the top bars and put a garbage bag over the boxes. If the cold doesn't get em, the carbon dioxide will.
My veteran bk bud used a rag soaked with starter fluid and put the top back on (don't smoke around it till it airs out!) to dispatch hives.
Can't ever say that bk'n ain't a learning experience!

I never thought of starter fluid, that should cure the problem. The wife said to put my suit on and use a fly swatter.
