I made a split back in may and the cell was no good. I left them queen less for the thought of making them a cell starter, but split up a overwintered hive to sell as a nuc. (yes he was with me when we split it.) And that box became a better starter, so I gave the queen less box a couple frames with emergency cells on them, from trying to find a queen in a different box.

So, queenless nuc for about a month, had bad cell in it. I took my time and a couple weeks later gave them the frames from a walk a way split.

I have been checking on them for a week and only been pulling one frame with a cell on it and leaving the other frame in. Thinking If any had emerged, that I would know, just by looking at that one cell.

Anyway, That cell is still intact and I know its way past due, so I pull other frame and see eggs. Pattern all over in little batches, but only one egg in each cell and in the center. I could not find her.

If that cell is dead, would she or the workers just left it alone? I am a little nervous that I might have a laying worker, but not sure because have never had one. Will a laying worker lay all living and accepted drones and will the drones be capped as such. That will tell me if I have one if I don't find her soon, right?

If the queen cell is dead they will not be worried about it or fuss with it until it is in their way, then they will tear it down.
