RIbees

I am a first year from Rhode Island.  Presently, my bees fill an 8 frame deep, each hive has an empty 8 frame medium super below. (2 identical hives).
The hives look good but I am concerned about adequate stores for winter survival.

First, depending on where you are on the island the goldenrod flow should get them through the winter. I can't say for sure I have only seen it on a map but I can't believe it is much different from here. Second... How can you say you live on an island? Your state is practically square and 3 out of 4 sides are bordering land?

Welcome to the forum.  It's a great place to learn ... Or help a neighbor, when you've learned a bit.  Just visited Bristol, our favorite town in RI.
