We've been watching a BBC series called Top of the Lake, which is set in New Zealand.  Mildly interesting show about a police detective in Sydney, Australia, who comes home to be with her dying mother and encounters a situation involving a pregnant 12-year-old, whose family seems like they'd fit right in in Appalachia.  Are there reallly rednecks in New Zealand?

Rednecks are everywhere.  You can take every one of Jeff's redneck jokes and start with "you might live on the rez if..."  They work just as well.
