I didn't know bees scavenged propolis. This box and lid are slightly non standard size so I swapped them out of the hive 2 weeks ago - yesterday the girls found them and set about cleaning off the propolis.

Sounds like there are not a lot of the right type of trees with sap flowing in your area.
