I talked to a bee keeper who I will buy my bees in the spring....he sells frames full of comb and brood and bees...I don't have a NUC box...how can I transport them in the back of my pickup 4 hours away?

In your full size hive. Just be sure the hive has all frames it will hold installed.

If you have a screened bottom board, leave the board out and then close the entrance by taping the entrance reducer in place with the small hole blocked off. Also close or screen the small exit hole on the edge of  the inner cover. I would also get one of those ratchet straps and securely strap the whole hive - bottom, deep, inner cover, outer cover - together so they can't slide apart on the trip.
