I put out some nuc boxs i built a few weeks ago as swarm traps, just for fun...  baited with the ol lemon grass oil.  Within 30 minutes i had bees buzzing around them checking them out.  They are attracted to that scent!  Pretty interesting just observing.  I ferl pretty confident when that hive close by swarms they will think about the boxs...  but who knows.  Its all in fun..

Sniper,
Watch the bees at the entrance. If they really like it they will do dances in front of other bees. If a lot of bees are dancing and their numbers grow and grow there is a good chance they will move in.

Here is a large swarm moving into a large swarm trap. I saw the bees dancing in front of the hive and knew they were coming. Earlier my wife saw the scouts and thought that I already had a hive in this trap. That is when I went out to see what was going on.
