How long to wait?

I installed a nuc into a hive 2 days ago...  how long should we wait to open then up again to check for hive growth, new frames being drawn out, stages of brood, and all the such?

What are things to look for when you open a hive to check in on it?

I typically don't like to bother my hives more than once a week. 

What are things to look for when you open a hive to check in on it?

That can be a long list but a few highlights include:
How much room they have.
Good brood pattern.
SHB
Queen(if you are lucky enough to find her).
Pollen and nectar stores.
