Just thought I would share some recent bee/beekeeping related articles I found on Google News:

Not everyone wants their crops to be polinated  :(

Who would steal a beehive?

Thanks Indianabrown for the news. Can I call you Charlie for short?

The third article really makes me mad. I have read of beekeepers' having their honey supers stolen. If that was happening with me, I would invest in a small motion dector that is made for protecting hives against predators. I believe it detects either motion or bodyheat and then goes off with with a loud siren and a flashing light.

The solution to the Parimount Citrus is simple--Have all the beekeepers refuse to provide pollinators for their almons crops and they should see the light in a hurry.  A letter from the California Beekeepers Association pn the boycott and on past legal findings on bees and farming might wake them up as well.  Sounds like some city slicker who doesn't know a bee from a bird is making the decissions.
Every seedless varity of plant developed by man throws a seed occassionally.
Life is a school.  What have you learned?   :brian:      The greatest danger to our society is apathy, vote in every election!

I would refuse to move my bees personally.  If someone wants to come in and plant thats fine, but if they wanna come in and plant, and then tell me to that I can no longer live my life the way I choose, then I would be forced to quickly ignore them.

I guess thats the liberatarian in me, you don't go out of your way to mess with me, I will not go out of my way to mess with you.

Edit:

I live in rural Minnesota, and citiots move out here and try an tell us country folk what to do, and change our laws and tell us how to live.  We say go back to the city.  This seems like a similar situation.
