Hi everyone,

I'll be getting my first hive in a few weeks. So I wanted to jump on here to hopefully gain some more knowledge on this hobby. To start I'll only be getting one box (Probably not the right term). Any advice would be helpful!

Welcome to Beemaster. Maryland is beautiful. I lived there for a year as a teenager. ... jump right in and ask questions as they come up for you. Lots of people here who are very kindly willing to help out. Hopefully I'll bee as wise as them someday regarding bees - hopefully you will too. :)

Hello from Washington County, MD!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I recently moved and found that my neighbor keeps bees. Wondered over while he was introducing a new colony into one of his boxes. Turns out he's been keeping them for over 30 years!

Welcome.  You are very fortunate to have such an experienced neighbor!
