I'm told that the queen does not like to go on the dark wax on a foundation.  Do I remove the wax and toss it, and keep the foundation.  Do I throw the frame away and replace.  If I keep the foundation, how to I clean it so the Queen will use it.

Stung,
I have been told the opposite that they prefer old dark comb.  I'm interested to hear what other more experienced keeps have to say.

Queens will lay on old comb before using new comb unless there is something wrong with it.

Kind of what Jim stated above but sometimes you will see dark old comb with spotty brood pattern.  This can be a result of chemicals over time contaminating the comb to the point brood has a hard time living in it and the nurse bees will pull them out.
You are what you think.
