Hello

Well i went out to my two weak hives to follow the advice of my fellow beekeepers and tto my surprise all three hives were bringing in a white looking pollen and some yellow. They were working as if they were going somewhere but i took the top off my first weak hive to see what i had to do and boom it hit me a lot of bees combs drawn out except one and full of brood then i went to my third hive and the same thing so i guess it was like someone said bees will be bees and as they grow they will draw out what they need. But what could this white pollen be from could it be from the sourwood trees.

The only way to truely judge what kind of plant it came from would be to look at the pollen grains under the microscope and then compare it to others.  The only white pollen I ever get down here is from the Jackaranda trees in April.

Hello

Thank you finsky i have a lot of sourwood trees in my area i live close to the lake and you ccan smell the trees when the wind blows. I went to see them after it rained and my two carniolan hives where working like no tomarrow. My third hive is slowly working it is one of my weak hives but the second one is coming in with nothing but pollen and my strong one is coming in half and half some of the bees are falling to the ground before they reach the entrance and some are coming in with big loads of pollen so i think something is in bloom and they are working it like crazy.

Hi Tom

You should take care that hives has room enough for new nectar. Look inside and follow how soon things happen in hives. Small hives are dangerous because they become soon filled and then they swarm.

You may give foundations to be build now.

Don't use excluder. It makes only harm for good yield.
