I have noticed all the bees on the flowers are not my Italians though they seem to be the only onrs gathering pollen. Does anyone know where I can view color photos of different types of bees? The most interesting is the size of a honeybee with narrow black and yellow stripes running the lenght of its body.

Hello

I see that you have different types of bees on your flowers that are not italians. I have a hive of NWC's and they are three different colors some are brown with black stripes and some are black and grey while the others are jet black with no stripes. My big hive is carniolans and cordovan italians mixed and they are black and grey too a orange red with solid black tips and heads and my second hive is brown and black with stripes. The bees you are seeing maybe feral bees or some hybrids from other beekeeps in your area.

Bee lining has proven to be impossible for me.

What part of the process is impossible for you?  If they fly too fast, try glueing a down feather on them.  It also makes them more visible.

the strips are on the upper part of the body with the wings, the other part is normal. Didn't look up the names for the body parts. Another interesting one the yellow strips outline a black hour glass on the lower body. Saw what looks like a regular honeybee but black like a bumble bee. Several others in various sizes that I can't even begin to discribe.
