Well i don't have them but they look neat.

theirs the Swienty 3 frame radial extractor that looks like a pancake!

and then the Deluxe Italian compact extractor, with a holding tank included?

What do you guys think of that?

Just was curious what you guys thought about these two extractors...

I got the cheap ol' dadant two frame hand extractor.   For the money, it works just fine.

The honey joint up the road that has been in business for over 40 years, only sells Italian Extractors.

I find that odd, there are no tax breaks in selling Italian made goods, so I presume they are the best. They look very sexy! All stainless. Italy has an often overlooked first class reputation for producing machinery, except for the Ferrari of course!

Wow, those were my exact thoughts last year. I ended up buying the Deluxe Italian from Betterbee. The hand crank extractor tank on top, a strainer in the middle and then the bottom tank with a honey gate. I believe it to be of very good quality and workmanship. I'm happy with the unit except my only regret is not buying the stand for it, I'll get it later. The Swienty is very nice, but you need a large table to accommodate  it, which I did not have. Good luck  :-D

I have the deluxe Italian. I bought it used, good deal and a nice quality extractor. Just big enough for me.

The extractor you are describing was designed for use with top bar hives, although it will work fine with frames also.  It is a horizontal radial extractor where the combs lay flat with the top bars on the outer radius.  It's only about 8" tall.  It looks like it would work well and it looks like it would be efficient to store it as it is only about 8" tall and has no legs, so it should fit against a wall or in a tight space somewhere.

I might concider getting the Compact Italian Extractor but i dont know in the long run, but im not to worried about it right now, i would rather not do the crush and strain method though. Heck I might be able to save my self some cash and end up just being able to borrow some one locally who has an extractor.

Many bee clubs offer rentals of equipment to members. Would make joining the bee club worth your while just for that.

Wouldn't there be a chance of passing disease or other issues on sharing a common extractor?

What if it was stainless?

I don't think disease would be an issue if the extractor was used for honey of human consumption not to feed back to bees.

My local bee group has two for borrowing. Both are Mann Lakes. Used it once and was fine. Want to try the deluxe italian myself since its self contained.

Not if you cleaned it down well after use.

It depends how many hives you have and how much you exctract.

First I had hand used  extractor. I thought that electrict cannot be faster. However I bought electrict and I found that it is douple faster. When I uncap frames, it exctract honey and I have still time clear out sieves when they stuck.

It takes to me about 100 lbs per hour to exctract. If summer is hot and honey is sticky it takes 100-200% more time.

As young I may extract  16 hours per day if needed, but now 4 hours is enough. Good night sleep is better that extracting.

Electrict knife is very essential in that job.

I also agree about the swienty three frame it look pretty cool and a nice way to save space just stand up and put in a corner somewhere when done --gnhoney--
