when is the best time to put a pollen trap on a bee hive

IMO right at the end of the main flow while things are still blooming well.  That way you don't have the traffic jams you'd have during the main flow, you don't hurt your honey crop and you don't interfere with the spring buildup.

What is its pupose?
I mean, I know it catches pollen, Why would you need/want to?

Pollen can be sold to other beekeepers or stored for your own use.  You can freeze it to feed it as a supplement next season, or later in the year if they need it.  Some  like to eat it or brew tea with it thinking it helps with their alergies.  I don't know if it works, I've never tried those.

like apis already said, it has numerous good attributes so..just do a little search around the net about it, i'm sure you'll find lot's. all i know from my memory is that it's great for digestion-1 tea spoon a day, and if let's say a child has apetite issues, pollen is the thing.

Nothing beats real pollen for feeding the bees in the late winter.

I just got back from a trip to Tucson.I want pollen to feed the bees.I don't treat or feed artifical things.So I want a Pollen trap so I can have pollen to feed the bees
