Just curious...if I put on super with 10 frames of wax foundation-undrawn.  Let it get drawn and then put on 10 frames of plastic foundation-undrawn on top....  Would there be a problem?  All frames are wood.

We are having a "blackberry winter". This late cold snap happens nearly every year, right about when blackberries are in full bloom.  Like an Indian summer..   The blackberries are in full bloom in central MS.

Was going to put on the supers today, expected high today 48.  The weekends are my only time to work (play) with the bees.  I have one hive that swarm a couple of weeks ago, put a frame of eggs and larva in it last week.    Would like to see if they started anything or if I did have a queen laying in it.  Can get a queen this week, but would like to save money, oh well.

I think you would have better luck getting them to draw the plastic if you put a few of the plastic frames in between the drawn wax frames.  The hive that swarmed should have left a virgin queen or queen cells behind unless it was a absconding swarm where they all left.  Sounds good though, good luck.

Not at all.  That works fine.  You'll have better luck getting them to draw the wax, but getting them to draw the plastic won't be any different than any other time.  It's only a problem when you give them a box of wax and a box of plastic or, worse, a box with both plastic and wax in it.
