Effects of a nectar flow

I am encountering a weird situation. When I did a cut out in November. I left the extra honey in my yard for the bees to take. The hives went nuts and bees were all over it.

Now in April I had some honey from another cut out I wanted to give the bees. Again I left it in my yard. Now they are barely toching it. There isn't anything wrong with the honey. I have honey from more than one cut out. But the number of bees focused on it right now is barely a handful.

The hives have heavy traffic. Lots of pollen and the frames are filling up. Just not from the leftover honey.

They call them workers because that's what they do.  they like to work, hard.  If you want the bees to take the honey from the cut out I'd put it out when the current flow ebbs and before the next one starts.  Or, you can wait, new foragers will be more likely to work the cut out honey as they are not already dedicated to specific flower types.
