Pretty neat.

What new toy? the router bits or the saw mill? The sawmill that was used on my wood is a super woodmiser. All hydraulic with 2 pumps. The guy that had it used to have one that didn't have all the hydraulics and it was a lot more work. But he did say that the learning curve of using it is best to start with the less sophisticated model.

Sounds like a good deal. i may have to have some of my wood cut. How long do you let it dry before you use it?
Probably not long enough but I haven't had any problems. A couple weeks is all I let them sit. Obviously the ones I still haven't used have had a lot more time.

Hey Eric, I just haven't had a lot of exposure to router bits. Those looked pretty neat.

Please don't buy plastic frames. They are terrible.

I totally agree.  But I did see a video on queen rearing that said if you have black plastic frames it's easier to see when grafting. I have a couple that came in nucs that I will use for that purpose.

I use black Mann Lake plastic foundation with wood frames. I started out with plastic frames and I hated them! They always burr them up, and I always end up prying the boxes apart. I'm too cheap to throw them away so I mix them in. The good part is I suspect they'll last forever.

I use the yellow foundation and see the eggs better on them than I do on the black ones. I have removed all of the black foundation from my hived.
The trick is to have the sun over your shoulder and the frame upside down with the light beaming down into the cells.
