superhoney

It was easy, and I was lucky:
My sweetie has always called me superhoney   :-*
And it fits really well on a beekeeping site I thought

I was totally amazed that it was available too! It was just meant to bee.  <----look look my first bee riff!

tah-dah!

MustbeeNuts

Mine was pretty straight forward, when I mentioned to my buds that I was going to start to keep bees, although they thought it was interesting, the usual first responsse was you must be nuts, meaning of course that bees sting. And similiar responses, so when I found this site that is what I used. This is will be another  line of animals I have kept. I  raise white siamese fighting fish and exhibit them at shows. They don't sting or bite. :)
Each new day brings decisions,  these are  new branches on the tree of life.

Cindi

JP, you better watch out, you might get teased, hee, hee, wonder by who?  Best of this beautiful day, Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

Yesiree I'm indeed a drone, see? <turns around> No stinger!

Superhoney was more like:

Who do you call when you need something heavy moved from here to there?
Superhoney!
Who do you call to get the dead skunk out from under the house?
Err well you get the picture.

johnnybigfish

Hey TG!
Do you still have knees?? 25 years of doing tile is a long time!
I did it for awhile too, but that was when i was young...All I wanted was a paycheck and didnt want to work that hard. I can do a job if I have to but thats very rare,,,,I fouind out that when people learned that I had done tilework they always wanted me to do a job for them!
Its like that with bees too!...Once people learn you are doing bees you'll start getting calls for swarms to be caught!
My dad went into the tile business(selling) and lasted 4 years....I suppose he did ok as when he quit he didnt owe anybody anything!
He never charged freight....He never was outpriced by any of the other distributors...All profits went back into stock. It goes to show you that good business isnt necessarily good business.
well, thats all.....

lovelyembalmer

:)Hi, I choose lovely embalmer because that is what I do for a living.
my husband and I have bees as a hobby, although with 10 hives it is really work.
I logged on with you so i could ask questions and maybe between everyone, we could figure out how to keep the bees from going away.
My husband just called and asked me if I had heard what the bees were doing every where but our yard.  Answer:  making honey!!!
we have hives that want to swarm and keep swarming until the queens are gone.
Help!!

MollySuesHoney

Mine is easy.  When I started back in bees after a few years of marriage (still happily so) we were trying to come up with a name to label bottles with.  My wife's name is Molly Sue.  So, I'm Molly Sue's Honey.

What a great topic!

When I was younger I was accused of thinking I was the queen bee- flying as fast and far as I could and seeing if any drones could catch me.  It wasn't ego- I just love life!  And, boy am I glad the drones in the bee kingdom are better than the ones chasing me!  I married after I was 40.

I have a burning desire to become a bee keeper and am beginning to collect the tools of the trade.  I'm very thankful and excited to have found this forum.

But, as far as How I chose my member name:  I like to have one online name for everywhere.  I had been using the initials of my given name and my last name for over five years.  My husband finally told me he wasn't comfortable with our last name being "out there" and asked me to choose another name.  I was agonizing over what to choose and my sister-in-law said at one job she had they took the first five letters from your last name and paired them with the initials of your given name so I chose that- DJ, short for Donna Jo, Dembi, short for Dembinski- but would change it in a heart beat for a really cool moniker if anyone has any suggestions!

SmokeEater2

Well, I'm a firefighter by trade and several years ago I met a Boston firefighter who at one point said (in a fantastic Boston accent) "so you're a Smoke Eater too huh"? My wife thought it was a hilarious nickname for some reason and it stuck and I just shortened it to SmokeEater2.

cherami

My name Cherami is the name of our farm in France normally it is Cher-ami in French it translates to my friend, but in fact it came from a 1st world war American pigeon who had the job to take messages to different parts of the western Front etc. Whilst on it's last mission the Germans did their best to kill it, after being wounded it got to it's destination and was responsible for saving many lives. It now resides in a museum in the USA.
